Our Quick Start Guide

Power Down - It’s best to press the power button to power down the unit as opposed to just pulling power. It’s a common problem even with Alpha Labs computers that it can lose the memory in VST host and you may have to repatch the plugin after an improper shutdown.

Connectivity - It’s best not to connect to internet to avoid any Windows or program updates that may occur and cause slowdown or non-matching firmwares. *It’s also why we try to preload computers with ASIO drivers for convenience.

Input - When coming from a console it’s best to use the ¼”(6.35mm) inputs as they are LINE inputs and not Mic inputs.

Startup - Make sure Focusrite/Audio Console is powered, booted, and connected via USB before powering up the Computer.

?No Audio?

If you don’t seem to be getting audio passing through after patching your console. Try these testing tips: *Plug a microphone directly into the focusrite and see if signal passes through there without going through your console. (patching can be confusing and we’ve had several phone calls that ended up being someones internal/digital console patch was wrong) *Make sure volume knobs are turned up on the focusrite. (Especially the big one) *Look at the screen and make sure that the plugin is still patched and see if signal passes all the way through to the meter on the output box on the right side. (Incorrectly powering the unit off can lose the patching due to an error in VSTHost) *On VSTHost go up to “Devices” then “Wave” then make sure that you have the correct ASIO driver selected under “Output Port” (Generally “ASIO: Focusrite USB ASIO” or your console you’re currently plugged into and powered on) *Make sure you’re using a USB Data cable and not a 2-pin charging cable. (We provide the Focusrite USB a to USB c data cable with our packages) *Make sure you’re actually plugged into the USB port. (We’ve already had a scenario where someone plugged the usb into the network port(because it does fit) and didn’t have audio)

?Audio sounds weird, doubled, or not processed?

*Make sure “Direct Monitor” is not turned on. That bypasses the Plugin. *If you’re using the Focusrite Solo with the “Summed” setting on. Only use 1 output as both outputs are putting out the same signal and doubling. *On VST host go up to “Devices” then “Wave” then make sure that you have the correct Sample Rate and Buffer selected. (Our machines ship at “48000 sample rate” and “128 buffer”)
